EEOC Increases Fine for Poster Violations

April 27, 2023

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has recently raised the fine for failing to post the required nondiscrimination notices. The new fine amount is $659 for each separate violation.  The most recent EEOC nondiscrimination notice was released in October 2022.  A link to the poster can be found here.

Employers are responsible to ensure that they are in compliance with all applicable EEOC regulations including posting requirements. Posters should be displayed in a prominent location in your workplace where all employees can easily see them.  Depending upon your workplace and whether you have remote workers, also posting online or providing an electronic link to the relevant poster maybe required or suggested as a best practice.

Please take the time to review your current compliance practices and ensure that you are meeting all of the necessary requirements. Failure to comply with EEOC regulations can result in costly fines and legal action, which can have a significant impact on your business.

All employment posters can be found in your HR content cloud in the member portal. Or if you have questions related to posting requirements, please call Member Care at 509.777.2727.
