Late last week the EEOC confirmed that the system which would be utilized for collection of “Component 2” data—which includes hours worked and pay information from employees’ W-2 forms could be complete by September 30, 2019, if a third party data collector could be utilized. There is a significant amount of work that will need to be done by the agency in order for their system to be ready to accept this additional information. Employers should be preparing their component 2 data in anticipation of September 30th.
The May 31, 2019 filing deadline for “Component 1” of the EEO-1 report is still in effect. Component 1 data includes the number of employees by EEO category, race, sex, and ethnicity.
